Dhow Bar & Restaurant

Eating at The Dhow Restaurant is a unique experience thanks to our centrepiece – an original and (previously) sea worthy Dhow boat. It was sailed up to the beach outside The Zanzibari and carried into the restaurant to take up it’s new role as our bar. As your eyes make their way up the sail of the Dhow you will see the breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and also take in the traditional high beamed “Makuti” roof.

All of the furniture in the restaurant is made from reclaimed Dhow wood and each piece is unique – you won’t find a dining experience like this anywhere else in Tanzania!

To keep to the trend of originality, we make full use of the wide variety of spices that are available on the island to make delicious and unique dishes. You’ll enjoy organic fruits and fresh fish caught the same day, all prepared by our high calibre chefs – the tastes will dazzle your senses.

In addition to the dining area we have two open plan lounges which are great places to unwind before eating your meals. Both lounges are decked out with Dhow furniture and one of them has a widescreen TV with DSTV satellite, perfect for catching up on the latest news and sports.
