2 nights: Selous Safari

This short Safari is perfect in combination with a beach holiday on Zanzibar

Day 1 Zanzibar – Selous Game Reserve
Pick up from the Zanzibari, transfer to the airport for your flight to the Selous. Afternoon walking Safari at the Selous. Dinner and overnight at the Sable Mountain Lodge. All meals included.

Day 2 Selous – Selous Game Reserve
After breakfast full day tour in Selous park via Lake Nzoea, Lake Siwandu, Lake Nzelekela, Lake Manze with packed lunch. After bush lunch proceed to the Frederic Selous grave, a british hunter who killed by action on 1917 by Germans. Late continue to Hot water Spring (or Maji Moto) until evening, then drive to a campsite for dinner and overnight. All meals included.

Day 3 Selous – Zanzibar
Early morning game drive, then we bring you to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar. Transfer to The Zanzibari. Breakfast included.

5 Night Package – 3 Nights Zanzibar and 2 nights Saadani National Park

Day 1: Arrive at Zanzibar airport and transfer by car to Nungwi in the stunning North coast of Zanzibar. Stay at The Zanzibari.

Days 2 & 3: Relax at The Zanzibari. The beautiful coastline with its palm-fringed beaches create an image of a forgotten paradise. Most are protected by coral reefs and are made of white coral sand. Here you can relax on the balmy, tropical shores of the Indian Ocean. In the morning it may be possible to see some of the local fisherman, in their traditional dhows, bringing in their catch of the day.

Spend your days relaxing on the beach or snorkelling in crystal-clear water. There are bicycles for hire or several optional excursions can be arranged through the hotel, such as scuba diving, boat excursions, fishing trips or a spice tour of the island. You could also opt to visit the nearby turtle sanctuary where injured turtles and other marine animals are cared for until they are well enough to be set free into the wild.

Day 4: Transfer from The Zanzibari directly to the airport and fly out to Saadani National Park (alternatively we can arrange an adventurous boat transfer). Overnight Tent with a View.

Day 5: Safari options from Tent With A View include foot safaris, 4×4 game drives and boat safaris (these safaris and park fees are not included in the price). Overnight at Tent With A View.

Day 6: Enjoy game viewing en route to the airstrip before your flight back to Zanzibar (B).

7 Night Package – 3 Nights Zanzibar, 1 night Luxury Seasonal camp and 3 nights Saadani National Park

The beautiful accommodation is in keeping with the natural surroundings and makes extensive use of locally sourced materials. All of the tented bandas are raised high on wooden platforms dotted along the shoreline facing the Indian Ocean. Settle into Tent with a View for 3 nights.

Day 8: Early morning boat safari exploring the Wami River in its best light. After breakfast head off to Tent With A View our lodge on the Indian Ocean. Afternoon game drive in the North of the park well known for its Elephant population.

This Safari covers the highlights of Tanzania: the migration in the Serengeti, the stunning Ngorongoro Crater and the wild and adventurous Selous Park. At the end of this trip you will stay at our Zanzibar Beach Hotel.

Day 1 ARRIVAL
You will be met at the International Airport of Kilimanjaro by your Driver/Guide and our representative. We will take you to the Mount Meru Game Lodge in Arusha. Our safari manager will come to welcome you and for a safari briefing. Dinner.

Day 2 Lake Manyara
After breakfast we depart for to Lake Manyara. Nestling at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park is recognized for its incredible beauty. You can see many game animals such as Buffalo, Elephant, Giraffe, Impala, hippo and others..
Overnight at Serena Lodge at Lake Manyara . All meals included

Day 3 Lake Manyara – Olduvai Gorge – Serengeti
After breakfast you start on your way to Serengeti National Park. A picnic lunch will be provided. On the way you will stop at the Olduvai Gorge where anthropologists Louis and Mary Leakey made many significant discoveries, contributing to the theory that human life originated in Africa. After stopping for your picnic lunch on a kopje (rock outcropping) in Serengeti you will continü further into the park and go on a game drive. Overnight at Mapito Tented Camp at Ikoma, Northern Serengeti. All meals included

Day 4 Serengeti
A full day of game drives around Serengeti. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species. As in Ngorongoro your Driver/Guide will be in contact with other safari drivers and will amaze you with his skill at locating the hidden animals.
Overnight at Mapito Tented Camp at Ikoma, Northern Serengeti. All meals included

Day 5 Ngorongoro
In the morning drive to Ngorongoro Crater. After arrival in Ngorongoro you will descend into the crater for a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. Your Driver/Guide will amaze you with his skill at locating the hidden animals.
Overnight at Sopa Lodge at Ngorongoro or one of the lodges in Karatu nearby (Farmhouse, Plantation Lodge, etc) . All meals include

Day 6 Tarangire -Arusha
After breakfast you visit a Masai Village or go on a Nature Walk at the Northern Crater Rim of Ngorongoro Crater inhabited by buffalös, elephants, baboons, monkeys and different species of birds. Escorted by a ranger or Maasai Guide you follow animal paths through dense bush.
Afterwards, you return to Arusha for some shopping/sightseeing in Arusha Town..
Overnight in Mount Meru Game Lodge in Arusha. All meals included.

Day 7 Arusha-Dar Es Salaam-Selous
After breakfast, transfer to Arusha airport and flight via Dar Es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve. Transfer from the airstrip to your lodge for a meeting with the lodge manager to discuss your program for the following two days. Rest of the afternoon at leisure. Enjoy some time at the poolside or a great sundown from the lodge’s uniqü lounge area. Your lodge consists of stone cottages and luxury tented bandas suituated over Beho Beho Hillside of Sable Mountain.

Day 8/9 Selous Game Reserve
2 full of game drives at Selous Game Reserve named after the explorer Frederick Selous. The Selous Game Reserve is the largest protected wildlife reserve, a UN World Heritage site and a pristine uninhabited area larger than Switzerland. The topography of the park varies from rolling savannah woodland, grassland plain and rocky outcrops cut by the Rufiji River and its tributaries. Activities are game drives, a walking safari and a boat trip at Lake Tagalala where crocodiles, hippos and grazing game can be seen

NB – Fly camping’ can be arranged on reqüst (at a supplement). This is a wonderful way to sleep under the stars and enjoy the pure tranquility and raw excitement of the bush. Large tents made of heavy duty mosquito mesh ensure that you are close to nature but apart from only bugs. Fly camping in the wilderness perfectly compliments is a perfect compliments your safari to Selous.

Day 10 Selous – Zanzibar
After breakfast, transfer to Selous Airstrip for your connecting flight to Zanzibar around 10:30. Transfer to The Zanzibari at Nungwi Beach All meals included.

Day 11 – 15 Beach Extension
Relax and enjoy the beaches of Zanzibar. Breakfast and dinner.

Day 16 Spice Tour & Stonetown
After breakfast transfer to Stonetown. On the way we will do the famous Spice Tour. We have developed a special Spice Tour with in depth information not only about spices, but also organically grown herbs and a detailed description about their traditional uses in medicine cosmetics and cooking. After the tour we invite for an opulent lunch at our guides’ home, where you can taste the spices and fruits.
In the afternoon we shhow you Stone Town on our Historical Stone Town Tour. This tour takes you through fabled Stone Town, where history appears to stand still. With visits to the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum (People’s Palace) and the Arab Fort amongst others, it is a fascinating look at the essence of Zanzibar. You will see Zanzibar’s bustling market, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals and countless mosqüs!
Overnight at Zanzibar Coffeehouse or Dhow Palace or Tembo Hotel. Breakfast and lunch

Departure transfer to Zanzibar Airport for departure.
